Meet David

I have lived in West Richland for over for over 20 years and I’m proud to call West Richland my home. My children live here. My grandchildren live here. West Richland has grown from a small town of around 8,000 in the early 2000s to nearly triple that in 2025. We’re poised to grow well beyond that in the next few years. I am committed to ensuring our city remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

My Story

I understand the challenges we face to develop and grow as a city while preserving our great community. I recognize the incredibly diverse talent that chooses to live in this community as a result of the Hanford site, the nuclear industry and the supporting scientific labs, the medical complex, as well as the wine industry and agriculture. We have fascinating neighbors!
For all my adult life, I’ve believed in giving back to my community that has given so much to me. But our city is at a crossroads. It’s time for a change in how our city government works. We need strong leadership, greater transparency, and responsiveness to the needs of the citizens. I feel a strong responsibility to step up and help in this effort. We must be willing to make tough decisions, prioritize the needs of citizens, and ensure our community grows in a way that benefits everyone.
I am committed to working to keep our city a great place to live but also one that supports local businesses, ensures essential services, continues improved infrastructure, and strengthens community engagement. I promise to lead in that respect.

Three times in my life I swore an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…” upon enlisting in the U.S. Navy and as a sworn law enforcement officer. Elected officials affirm the same oath.
I take that oath seriously. It’s my commitment and your assurance that I’ll serve with honesty and integrity. It’s the filter through which I strain every action taken by government leaders at all levels. Military and law enforcement taught me critical leadership skills and decision-making in high-stress, often crisis situations.
I support our police officers and other first responders. We should not defund our police or minimize their mission in our city.

As your city councilman, I will advocate for local, family friendly businesses,

work to improve infrastructure and essential services, and strengthen community engagement.
